Andrew Randell was named along with UTS Coach Tim McClaren as “Coach of the Year” at the NSWRA Annual Dinner held last week. Andrew’s successes in 2002-3 included having four of the SUBC heavyweight athletes selected in the Aussie U23 Eight (bronze medallists at 2003 U23 World Regatta) and wins with SUBC in the National U23 Eight and Four , a win with the NSW Youth Eight at the Interstate Regatta, a win with the NSW Youth Eight in the Youth Cup in October,plus a win in the Gold Cup 03.
In addition Andrew and Head Coach Joe Rodrigues assisted Coach Marty Rabbjohns with the SUBC Junior Four program which resulted in a Gold medal for this crew at the 2003 World Junior Championships.
In another award for SUBC at the Dinner, Robbie Williams who steered the Junior Four won NSW Cox of the Year.
