Since taking over the captaincy of Sydney University?s Women?s Rowing Club in June 2006, Georgia McCaughan has seen the club grow in number and strength. Georgia is now stepping down as club captain to take her second semester of medical studies at The University of Pennsylvania, USA. Georgia will be replaced by Lucy Marshall, who is in her first year of a Bachelor of Arts & Science.
Lucy was captain of her school rowing program at SCEGGS Darlinghurst. She joined SUWRC just over a year ago and was part of the winning Sydney Uni U21 W8+ at last season?s State Championships. Lucy has become an integral and entertaining member of the senior squad that traveled to England to compete at Henley last month, and I?m sure you will join with me in congratulating her on her new role.
I would like to thank Georgia for the time and effort she put into the club during her captaincy, and wish her well on her travels. We all look forward to seeing her on her return.
