More Honours For Bourguignon, Kell And Pratley

The 2007 New South Wales Rowing Association Presentation Dinner was held on Wednesday 27 June. Liz Kell and Brooke Pratley were named the ?Oarswomen of the Year?, and Phil Bourguignon received the ?NSWRA Coach of the Year? title. These awards continue the golden run that Kell, Pratley and Bourguignon have enjoyed over the past months.

In December 2006, Kell and Pratley were named the ?Women?s Crew of the Year? at the annual Rowing Australia Awards in recognition of their gold medal in the double scull at the Eton World Championships.

Last April, Bourguignon received the ?Premier Coach of the Year? at the Sydney University Sports Awards. At the same ceremony, SUBC was named the ?Premier Club of the Year?. Then only a month ago Phil received The Coach of the Year Award from Australian University Sport. This latest award from NSWRA gives him an outstanding trifecta ? SU Sport, Australina University Sport and NSW Rowing

The NSWRA dinner also saw SUBC acknowledged in other categories. Coxswain Georgia McCaughan took out the ?Coxswain of the Year? title. AIS/SUBC athletes Tom Laurich and Matthew Ryan, currently part of the Australian men?s eight, were named ?Oarsmen of the Year?.

The club itself received a number of shield awards including the ?Intermediate Shield?, the ?Women?s Elite and U23 Shield?, and the ?Men?s Elite and U23 Shield?. Finally, the ?NSWRA Honours Recipients Trophy? also went to Sydney University
