The new SUBC Boatshed in Burns Bay is proceeding apace with 36 piles now completed in the bay and head stocks attached to support the main lower floor of the shed. The builders are now preparing to pour the main slab. From the photo the extent of the main deck is now apparent. On the left of the deck will be a four bay shed with change rooms and training amenities above on the second level. To the right side of the main deck is the boating area and from that area a ramp will lead down to a double sided floating pontoon in the bay.
The shed is scheduled for completion later in 2016.
Our alumni fundraising program still has some work to do to complete getting the last 5% of the funds required for construction.
