SUBC alumnus and perennial Australian Rowing Team doctor – Dr Bill Webb was on hand at the boatshed to do the honours on a new Empacher pair named in his honour. Bill rowed for SUBC in the period 1957 – 1962, sharing in the success of the Club during that era.
The SUBC committee felt it important to recognize the long running and major contribution by Bill to Australian Rowing through his role as team doctor for over twenty years. Bill has been an important contributor, behind the scenes, to the success of the Boat Club over the past two years. Our athletes have enjoyed unlimited access to Bill for every minor and major ailment and his care has enabled many of our best competitors to produce their best results to date.
