Aus Rowing Team Final Hit Out Before World Championships

The entire Australian Senior Rowing Team has been at Penrith over the past two weeks in final pre-departure camp for the World Championships in New Zealand. The team departs next Tuesday 26th October for Lake Karapiro – where the World Champs start next weekend.

Yesterday saw all the crews compete in flat out 2000′s on the Olympic course at SIRC as they rehearsed and honed their race plans for NZ. Sydney Uni rowers form and important part of the team and we wish them and all the Aussie Team the best at the Worlds.

Francis Hegerty, Matt Ryan, Sam Loch, Nick Purnell and Toby Lister are in the Men’s Eight. Nick Hudson is in the Men’s Double Scull, Fergus Pragnell in the Men’s Four, Sally Kehoe and Brooke Pratley are in the Women’s Quad and Sarah Cook is in the Women’s Four. Former 1970′s SUBC Olympian Tim Conrad will coach Duncan Free in the Men’s Single.

Our photo shows Men’s Eight members Sam Loch and Matt Ryan after their final racing at SIRC.
