The countdown is on! Next Sunday, 25 October, Sydney University and Melbourne University go head-to-head on the Lane Cove River for one of the biggest rivalries in Australian university rowing. 🔥

The 2026 Australian Boat Race Regatta will take place along the Lane Cove River, from Greenwich Wharf to the eastern edge of Figtree Bridge. With a full program of racing, there are several ways to catch the action and support the crews as they battle for bragging rights.

Where to Watch

Whether you're joining us at the boatshed or finding a spot along the river, here's how you can follow the racing.

1. Watch the livestream

Can't make it to Lane Cove? Catch the action live via the Rowing NSW YouTube channel.

2. Join us at the SUBC Boathouse

Head to the Sydney University Boat Club (SUBC) Boathouse, where races will be shown on the TVs throughout the morning. It's a great opportunity to watch alongside fellow athletes, alumni and supporters.

Medal and trophy presentations will also be held on the deck of the SUBC Boathouse following racing.

Please note: Attendance at the Thyne Reid Boathouse for the post-race celebrations must be booked in advance.

3. Watch from Longueville Point towards Greenwich

Find a spot along the river from Longueville Point towards Greenwich to watch the crews race away to the east towards Riverview. Enjoy the atmosphere from the water's edge as the crews power through the course.

4. Catch the finish at Figtree Bridge

For a front-row view of the finish, head to the eastern walkway of Figtree Bridge, where you can watch the crews cross the line at the conclusion of their races.

Join Us for the Post-Race Celebrations

The racing is only part of the occasion! Following the regatta, join the SUBC community at the boathouse to celebrate the crews, enjoy refreshments and food, and share in the traditions of Australian university rowing.

Post-race celebrations will run from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Sunday 25 October. Registration is essential to help us organise catering and accommodate dietary requirements.

With Sydney and Melbourne set to renew their rivalry on the Lane Cove River, it's shaping up to be a fantastic day of racing.

One river. Two universities. One great rivalry.

We'll see you on the river as Sydney takes on Melbourne!
