Phil joined SUBC in December 2006 and made an immediate impact with our club. With a strong education background in coaching and sports science plus a year as apprentice coach at the AIS and a strong and encouraging work ethic Phil has assisted the progression of Sydney Uni rowing into one of the best development and high performance programs in the copuntry. Phil was presented with the award by retiring Chancellor, Kim Santow ( an alumnus of SUBC and once refererd to by one of our rowers as “Chancellor of the Boatshed.”
Apart from the all around success of SUBC Phil coached the Australian Women’s U23 heavyweight group which won gold and bronze medals in 2006.
