St George And Nepean Regatta plus National Time Trial Success

SUBC entered 19 events over two days at the StGeorge and Nepean regattas held on the river course at Penrith on 3rd and 4th December. The final outcome of 19 events was 15 wins, 3 seconds and a dismal fourth. One would have to return to the early 70’s to see such a strong performance from SUBC at a local regatta.

The following weekend saw the NTC final time trial – one of a number conducted in each state. The results in many categories determine who is invited to the National Camp in January. Once again SUBC athletes performed well with Sydney Uni being represented in seven of the top nine boats on prognostic times.

In 2005 the National Coach has decided to ask Sen B heavyweight sweep and Sen A Scull to the January camp. Six SUBC rowers have been invited to this camp. In sculling congratulations to Andrew Wilson and Dan Noonan and in U23 sweep well done to Fergus Pragnell, Chris Clyne, Ian Allsop and Pat Wilson.

The rest of the SUBC squad plus the 2005 school garduates will also attend the Sydney University camp in Canberra from 2-15th January
