World Championships Results

A huge congratulations to our Sydney University Boat Club athletes following their racing at the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

SUBC was proudly represented across three Australian senior crews, with four of our athletes competing at the World Championships, alongside Head Coach Tom Laurich, who was selected as coach of the Australian Men’s Four.

SUBC Athletes Representing Australia

Emily Sheppard — 4th, Women’s Quadruple Sculls

Emily made her Senior World Championships debut in the Women’s Quadruple Sculls, producing an impressive performance to finish 4th in the A Final. It was a fantastic result at her first Senior World Championships and a great achievement as she continues to establish herself at the international level.

Jaime Ford — 7th, Women’s Eight

Jaime represented Australia in the Women’s Eight, finishing 7th in the A Final. After gaining valuable international experience with the Australian senior team, Jaime once again showed the strength and consistency that has seen her become an important part of the Australian squad.

Marcus Della Marta & Hamish Danks — 8th, Men’s Quadruple Sculls

Marcus and Hamish both made their Senior World Championships debuts in the Australian Men’s Quadruple Sculls. The crew progressed through the racing to reach the A Final and finished 8th in the world — an outstanding achievement for both athletes at their first Senior World Championships.

Congratulations to Coach Tom Laurich

A special congratulations also goes to SUBC Head Coach Tom Laurich, who was selected to coach the Australian Men’s Four at the 2026 World Rowing Championships.

The crew finished 10th overall, adding another international campaign to Tom’s extensive coaching career.

The 2026 World Championships were another significant milestone for SUBC, with our athletes competing alongside the best rowers in the world and gaining invaluable experience at the highest level of the sport.

We are incredibly proud of Emily, Jaime, Marcus and Hamish, as well as Tom, for their commitment, hard work and performances throughout the Championships.
