School Zootie Morning
Last week, we brought a little bit of our rowing history to the boatshed for Schools Zootie Day!

To celebrate the start of the new season, we encouraged everyone at SUBC to represent their school or first rowing club by wearing their old zooties, bringing back a little piece of where their rowing journey began.
It was a great way to welcome new faces to the club, reconnect with familiar ones, and celebrate the different pathways that have brought our athletes to SUBC. From school rowing programs and junior clubs to athletes who have travelled from interstate and overseas, everyone has their own story of how they found the sport.
For our newest members, it was a chance to introduce themselves and share where they have come from, while for returning athletes, it was a great opportunity to catch up with old teammates and reminisce about their early days in rowing.
At SUBC, we’re proud to bring together athletes from a huge range of schools, clubs and backgrounds, all united by the same love of rowing and the blue and gold.
A big thank you to everyone who got involved and dug out their old zooties for the occasion!
Here’s to a great season ahead, and to welcoming plenty more new faces to SUBC!
