Novices Star in DGIST Regatta – Korean Tour 2018

Korea 2018 – SUBC Women’s Four

A men’s and a women’s mixed four and coach Jack Hanley made up the Sydney University Rowing Team at the 2018 DGIST (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology) Regatta in Daegu, South Korea last week from 20-27th August.

The hosting university Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), covered all flights, accommodation, and meals for Sydney Uni, MIT, ETH Zurich, Cambridge and Hong Kong to come and experience their rowing festival and race the local favourites DGIST.

Sydney University elected to send our first-time 2018 novice rowers on this tour to experience some international competition and to reward them for a hard-fought block of winter training with SUBC. The novices were commended for their efforts and managed to bring home a swag of medals.
