Members of the 76 Uni squad were on hand to watch the 2004 Gold Cup. For possibly the first time in living memory three SUBC crews were enetered but in 04 Uni could not repeat the success of 2003 going down narrowly to a great Shore crew in the final. Justin Dwyer, John Diserens, Dave Clark, Brendan Lynch, Chris Noel and Cox Brian Casey and coach John Welch met up and reminisced about crushing Sydney and Mosman all those years ago.
The boys followed up with a lunch on Sunday at Chris Noel’s place and a promise to get together again next year.
Justin Dwyer and John Diserens have even taken back to the water in a masters pair.
Our photo shows that some of the 76 boys have put on a bit of condition since then.
