Former U23 Silver medallist in lightweight fours Tim' OCallaghan has overcome quite a few setbacks in his rowing career to reach his current position in the sport. After a two year stint at the AIS Tim emerged as the top performer in the Selection Regattas of 2004 in the lightweight category only to be denied selection in one of the most extraordinary decisions of Austraian rowing selectors in recent years. Last year Tim moved to Melbourne to work and suffered a setback early in the season when his pair partner , George Jelbart withdrew from competition due to weight considerations. Despite this Tim managed to team up with other partners at selection regattas and push his way into the lightweight squad. With good performances in pairs on the World Cup trip to in May/June
